Everton have agreed a 20m euro (£17m) deal with German club Hoffenheim for midfielder Anton Stach….

Everton have made a significant move in the transfer market by agreeing a €20 million (£17 million) deal with German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim for versatile midfielder Anton Stach. The 25-year-old German international is set to join the Premier League side as part of David Moyes’ plan to reinforce the Toffees’ midfield ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Stach, who made a name for himself in the Bundesliga with his energy, physicality, and tactical intelligence, has been a key figure for Hoffenheim since joining from Mainz in 2023. Known for his ability to break up play, drive forward with the ball, and provide a strong defensive shield, Stach fits the profile of the dynamic midfielder Everton have been seeking. His passing range and work rate make him an ideal addition to Moyes’ system, which relies heavily on midfield discipline and intensity.

The German has earned multiple caps for the national team and brings valuable European experience to Goodison Park. His arrival signals Everton’s intent to improve squad depth and compete more effectively in the Premier League, especially as they aim to climb back into the top half of the table after a difficult few seasons.

Sources close to the club suggest personal terms have already been agreed, with Stach expected to undergo his medical in the coming days before officially putting pen to paper. The deal is considered excellent value in today’s market, especially for a player entering his prime years and with proven ability in a top-five European league.

David Moyes has identified midfield as a priority area for reinforcement this summer, particularly following the departures and inconsistency in that position last season. Stach’s arrival will likely push competition for places and add a level of tactical flexibility, as he can operate both as a deep-lying playmaker and a box-to-box enforcer.

Everton fans will be hoping that Stach can quickly adapt to the physical demands of the English game and become a cornerstone in the club’s rebuild under Moyes. If he can replicate his Bundesliga form in the Premier League, the €20 million investment may prove to be a bargain in the long run.

The signing also reflects Everton’s renewed ambition under Moyes, with more additions expected as the Toffees continue reshaping their squad to better reflect the manager’s footballing philosophy.
