JUSTIN π¨:Lady Vols basketball lands elite 2025 target Deniya Prawl…
The Tennessee Lady Volunteers have secured a significant commitment for their 2025 recruiting class with the addition of five-star wing Deniya Prawl. Standing at 6-foot-1 and hailing from Toronto, Canada, Prawl is ranked as the No. 14 overall player and the No. 3 wing in the 2025 class by ESPNW. She chose Tennessee over other top programs, including Notre Dame and Baylor, after an official visit to Knoxville in October 2024.
Prawl’s commitment is a significant achievement for first-year head coach Kim Caldwell, marking her third top-tier recruit in the 2025 class. She joins twins Mia and Mya Pauldo, with Mia ranked No. 11 and Mya at No. 56 nationally. This trio represents the most highly regarded recruiting class for the Lady Vols since 2017, signaling a resurgence for the program.
Known for her versatility, Prawl is expected to thrive in Caldwell’s up-tempo and aggressive system. Her ability to defend multiple positions and contribute offensively with both perimeter shooting and driving to the basket makes her a valuable asset. Prawl expressed enthusiasm about the team’s style of play, highlighting her readiness to contribute on both ends of the court.
Beyond her high school achievements, Prawl was selected for the 2025 Nike Hoop Summit, representing the World Select Team. This honor places her among the elite young talents globally and underscores her potential impact at the collegiate level.
Prawl’s commitment reflects her belief in the Lady Vols’ direction under Coach Caldwell. She stated, “We’re going to bring Vol Nation back to where it was,” indicating her ambition to restore the program’s historic prominence. With such a strong recruiting class, Tennessee fans have reason to anticipate a bright future for Lady Vols basketball.
