Jorge Martín, the leader of the MotoGP world championship, will join Aprilia in 2025 after departing Ducati, the

Italian contender said on Monday.

The 26-year-old has been negotiating with the entire factory Ducati Lenovo team to join forces with two-time

defending champion Pecco Bagnaia beginning next season, in addition to racing for the factory-sponsored Pramac

team during his three-plus-season MotoGP career. Instead, Aprilia, who have won four grand prix since the start of

the 2022 season, has signed Martín to a two-year contract.

Based at Noale, which is less than 20 miles northwest of Venice, Aprilia seized the chance to sign a player with

Martín’s background. The championship runner-up from the previous season has won 12 Saturday Sprints and six

grand prix races.

“[Signing Martín away from Ducati] is a nice reward for a company that pushes every year for growth, to increase

performance and to fight the top riders and manufacturers, and we are really happy that we signed a rider like him,”

Rivola stated.
