Done Deals: Orlando Pirates confirm two new signings including Kaizer Chiefs target…

Kaizer Chiefs have made significant moves in the transfer market ahead of the 2021/22 season, confirming the signings of six new players. This follows the end of their FIFA transfer ban on July 1, allowing them to bolster their squad.

The new recruits include goalkeeper Brandon Peterson, who attracted interest from rivals Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu FC after being a free agent since leaving Bidvest Wits in September 2020. Joining him are defenders Sifiso Hlanti, Njabulo Ngcobo, and Sibusiso Mabiliso, along with midfielders Phathutshedzo Nange and Kgaogelo Sekgota.

Additionally, Kaizer Chiefs have recalled midfielder Given Thibedi from Swallows FC, where he spent the past two seasons on loan. Thibedi, a product of Chiefs’ Youth Development Academy, will compete for a place in midfield alongside his former youth teammates.

The acquisitions of Hlanti, Sekgota, and Ngcobo from Swallows are notable, given their contributions to Swallows’ successful top-eight finish in the recent PSL season. Nange joins from Stellenbosch FC, while Mabiliso arrives from AmaZulu FC, adding depth and experience to the squad.

Kaizer Chiefs’ football manager, Bobby Motaung, expressed optimism about the new signings, highlighting their potential to bring joy to the club’s supporters who endured two transfer windows without new recruits due to the ban. Motaung emphasized the players’ recent performances and expressed confidence that they would integrate well into the squad.

With the new signings in place, Kaizer Chiefs aim to strengthen their squad and compete vigorously in the upcoming season, aiming to deliver performances that will please their loyal fanbase and contend for trophies.

Overall, the addition of these players marks a significant step for Kaizer Chiefs as they prepare for the challenges ahead in South African football.
