Holger Rune’s coach, Boris Becker, has announced that he will step down from his role at the end of the 2024 season due to professional and personal commitments. Becker explained that the demands of the job require more availability than he can provide at this time. He expressed his support for Rune, stating that he will remain a fan and wished the young Danish player the best for the future【12†source】【13†source】.

This departure marks another significant change in Rune’s coaching team. Earlier in the year, Severin Luthi, former coach of Roger Federer, also left Rune’s team after a brief stint. Luthi’s exit was primarily due to scheduling conflicts, as disclosed by Rune’s mother and manager, Aneke Rune【14†source】.

Despite these changes, Rune, currently ranked No. 7 in the ATP rankings, continues to push forward. He experienced a challenging start to the 2024 season, with a second-round exit at the Australian Open and subsequent early finishes in other tournaments. Nonetheless, he remains focused on his upcoming competitions, including the 500-level tournament in Rotterdam【13†source】【14†source】.
