According to multiple reports, the NFL has reinstated five players, including four former Detroit Lions, from indefinite suspensions imposed last year for violating the league’s gambling policy. Safety C.J. and wide receiver Quintez Cephus had their suspensions lifted by the league. Moore, Rashod Berry, Demetrius Taylor, a defensive lineman, and Shaka Toney, a defensive end, Along with Lions receiver Jameson Williams, Cephus and Moore were part of a group of five players who were suspended in April. Because he bet on a sport other than the NFL, the latter received a lighter six-game suspension that was eventually reduced to four games. Following the announcement of their suspensions, Cephus and Moore were both granted immediate release. A month earlier, Moore, who had been the Lions’ all-time great on special teams, had returned to the team as a free agent. Late in June, Taylor’s suspension was made public. The team had already let go the undrafted free agent a month earlier. The reinstated players are eligible to sign with new teams immediately after their suspensions have been lifted.
