Report: Steelers are now favored to land quarterback Russell Wilson

The Pittsburgh Steelers have emerged as the heavy favorite to land Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, according to sportsbook DraftKings. They tweeted a chart showing they opened up (+1400), which is pretty slim odds, and they’re now shown as heavy favorites (-110) to land him.So, could we see Wilson land in the Steel City and compete with Kenny Pickett for the Steelers quarterback job?For all we know, Wilson will likely be released by the Wildcats in the coming days and weeks, so his potential suitors are starting to find out. One team that should be in the veteran quarterback market is the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have a pretty good roster and coaching staff that got them to the postseason despite having Kenny Pickett, Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph at the center of it last season. So Wilson, even though his game was off, would be an upgrade for them.Now the Steelers aren’t just tied to Wilson. The sportsbook of DraftKings also listed the Steelers as the favorite to trade with the quarterback of the Chicago Bears Justin Fields.All of this appears to have been fueled by Adam Schefter, who recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and linked Wilson and Fields to the Steelers.”We know Pittsburgh [Steelers] are going to go out and get some quarterback,” Schefter said. “Whether it’s Ryan Tannehill, Russell Wilson or Justin Fields. Mike Tomlin is a big fan of Justin Fields. We’ll keep that in mind in the offseason and the coming weeks.Whenever we see big changes like this in Vegas, it’s remarkable and something to look forward to. Since Wilson is said to be “quietly shopping” the mansion he bought when he was traded to the Broncos, it looks like he could be released here at some point in the near future. If so, it appears the Steelers are interested in signing the veteran kicker.At the end of the day, it looks like Wilson’s time in Denver is up. It’s no surprise, but lately there’s been talk that both sides could work something out and they’ll be fine, who knows? but it looks like it will end in divorce.
