Wests Tigers NRLW captain Kezie Apps and teammate Leianne Tufuga have agreed new contracts to compete in the Queensland Rugby League’s BMD competition.Jillaroo and New Zealand internationals have both joined the Western Clydesdales club and this year’s BMD Premiership season.Apps is recognized as one of the most decorated players in women’s rugby league and has captained both Australia and New South Wales during her career.The 2019 Dally M medalist has played in 26 NRLW (The Dragons and Tigers) games and 12 Tests for Australia since making her international debut in 2014.On the other hand, Leianne Tufuga made her international debut. New Zealand Kiwi Ferns last year – played three Tests. An electric and skilful winger, Tufuga scored nine tries in 21 NRLW games for Wests Tigers NRLW and Sydney Roosters NRLW.Arriving at the Clydesdales, they will face three-time NRLW premiership winner and Brisbane Broncos NRLW side Ali Brigginshaw and NRLW superstar Shenae Ciesiolka.”I think it’s a very exciting opportunity for us, it’s been a good build for our women’s program and #039; and to become a club with players of this caliber we’re on the right track.” said the chief executive of Western Clydesdales via The Chronicle.“Along with our local girls, they add great experience and insight into what it’s like to play at the highest level.”Leianne is still young but has played three years in the NRLW which shows the fast trajectory you can have in the women’s game #039,”Kezie has years of experience at all levels and is a solid leader who will add our management.”.
