UCLA coach is a potential candidate for offensive coordinator with the Washington Commanders…

Chip Kelly is interested in returning to the NFL.Kelly, the head coach of UCLA and former head coach of Oregon Ducks, could be “a possible candidate” for the offensive coordinator of the Washington command, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. The Commanders announced Thursday that they have hired Dan Quinn as their new head coach.According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Kelly reportedly had two interviews with the Las Vegas Raiders for their offensive coordinator position under head coach Antonio Pierce. The Raiders decided to hire former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury for the job.Kelly was the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles for three seasons beginning in 2013. He led the Eagles to 10-6 seasons in his first two seasons and they won the NFC East in his first season. He was fired in Week 16 after the Eagles posted a 6–9 record. Kelly also spent one season as the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers in 2016, with the 49ers going 2-14.Kelly just finished his sixth season at UCLA with an 8-5 record. There was speculation that he would be fired after the season, but a 38-20 win over cross-town rival USC and a 35-22 win over Boise State in the LA Bowl—the Bears’ first bowl win since 2014—forgave Kelly. However, knowing that the athletic director planned to fire him before the school chancellor blocked the move, Kelly believes that his days in Westwood are numbered.Kelly’s reputation was built in large part during his time at Oregon, where he developed an innovative offensive style that included a quick attack and a run pass (RPO). Kelly posted a 46-7 record in his four seasons in Eugene. The Ducks have won three Pac-12 titles and reached the national championship in 2010..
