Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator and former Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn has received interest from multiple teams in their open head coaching positions. The only two places open are the Washington Commanders and the Seattle Seahawks.Quinn runs for both. He already had a second interview with the Seahawks last week and a second interview with the commander on Tuesday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter joined the Pat McAfee Show on Monday to talk coaching vacancies.”People around here said they think [Detroit Lions offensive coordinator] Ben Johnson is going to Washington and Dan Quinn is going to Seattle,” Schefter said on the show. “I bet at least one of them is wrong, maybe both.”Speaking about the work of the commanders, Schefter also added that they were “very impressed with [Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator] Mike McDonald, [Lions defensive coordinator] Aaron Glenn and [Ravens defensive line coach] Anthony Weaver. And I think those guys was. a legitimate opportunity to get this job.”Quinn has no prior training in Washington, but he did in Seattle. Four of his 20 years as an NFL coach were spent in two separate stints with the Seahawks. The first came in 2009-2010 when he worked under Jim Mora as their assistant coach and defensive line coach. The second came in 2013-14 as defensive coordinator under Pete Carroll. The Seahawks won the Super Bowl in the 2013 season with the league’s best defense (fewest points allowed per game) led by Quinn.Over the past three seasons, the 53-year-old has led a Cowboys defense that has ranked among the top seven defensive units every year under his belt. Dallas defensive line coach Aden Durde has been approached by several teams regarding the defensive coordinator position. Durde has been with Quinn for the last three seasons in Atlanta and could take another job or follow Quinn if he fills one of the two vacancies.If both were to leave, it would leave room for the former division rival to fill Quinn’s defensive coordinator role.”I’ve been told the Cowboys have some interest in exploring [Ron] Rivera as their defensive coordinator when Dan Quinn leaves,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said Sunday.Rivera is 62 years old and has not been a coordinator since 2010 after coaching stints with the Carolina Panthers and Washington Commanders. He served as the defensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears (2004–2006) and the San Diego Chargers (2008–2010). He was named Assistant Coach of the Year in 2005 by the Pro Football Writers of America. He also won two AP Coach of the Year awards with the Panthers (2013, 2015)..
