Bryan also spent six years in Tottenham’s recruitment team and 11 years as a scout at Aston Villa in two separate spells …Bryan King believes former Everton player Landon Donovan could be involved in a potential takeover of the club.The decision comes amid news that a consortium of American investors is preparing to make a new bid for the Toffees [Josimar, January 9].The publication added that the group was composed of a prominent sports figure who has a strong knowledge of the club.Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “If it’s another American company, who could it be, Landon Donovan? He can be an outstanding character.“We used Landon, he came to MLS in the winter months on loan for two or three years, so he has a good relationship with Everton, he knows the club.“He was very successful at Everton and I know that David Moyes liked him very much. It might work, he might be a pretty good advisor to this new consortium.Former US international Donovan played 22 times for the Merseyside national team and represented the likes of LA Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes.So he certainly knows them more than others, but it remains to be seen if his short playing time is enough to develop a “solid knowledge” of irises.One thing is for sure, Everton need a lot of help from the people who live and breathe the club in these difficult times..
