Ford Motor Company CEO Jim Farley has issued an ominous warning to rival Formula 1 teams about developing their engines with Oracle Red Bull Racing.Red Bull usurped F1 dominance from rivals Mercedes when the era of ground effects began in 2022. The team won both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships in two years, largely thanks to the skill of driver Max. Verstappen.Fans are hoping that 2024 will provide a tighter title race, with McLaren closing the gap on the champions as the 2023 season progresses and general positivity surrounding the progress of latest challengers Ferrari and Mercedes.However, the latest information about Red Bull, particularly their powertrain division, could have rival teams worried that the Milton Keynes-based outfit will continue to dominate and break more records in the years to come.Ford CEO offers worrying updates to other teamsFord CEO USA Jim Farley recently visited Red Bull’s technology campus in Buckinghamshire to assess the team’s 2026 powertrain development.The two companies agreed to join forces early last year, signing an engine supply agreement that will begin when the next era of F1 cars begins racing in 2026.Ford-Red Bull engine development has already begun and Farley is confident, that he saw the partnership prove successful, fruitful from the start.He said at the Ford event: “I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with the Milton Keynes team and [Red Bull technical director] Adrian Newey. But I am very pleased with the progress. I wish I could tell you more, but I will say that we are on the right track.“We have the best drivers, we have the best technical support. We have the best at Ford and the best in the world backing them. But the team, the power team they are building in Milton Keynes is absolutely top notch. We climb to the top step of the podium in first class.Team principal Christian Horner has already echoed Farley’s words, calling the engine’s progress “excellent”.Red Bull’s RB20 2024 car goes on hiatus on February 15th.
