Major, a fifth-year senior at Oklahoma City’s Millwood High School, had the best year of his OU career in 2023 with 308 yards and one touchdown on 78 carries. He finished with 833 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns in his five Sooner seasons. Major played in seven games this season and made four career starts as the Sooners searched for a quarterback. Major played in three games in 2019, 10 games in 2020 (one start), six games in 2021 and nine games in 2022. The 6-foot-1, 224-pound Major has battled numerous injuries throughout his career and missed academics in 2021. the snafu cost him qualification. Major’s career highlight came in the 2020 Cotton Bowl win over Florida, when he rushed nine times for a career-high 110 yards over the Gators at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The following year, Major contributed 54 yards on 10 carries for Oregon in the Alamo Bowl victory. Also in 2020, Major rushed 12 times for 43 yards and a touchdown in a four-overtime win over Texas. Coming out of Millwood, Major was ranked #248 by ESPN. He was rated 4 stars by ESPN and Rivals, while 247 Sports gave him a 3-star rating. He was the number 16 receiver in the country between rivals and number 17 of ESPN and number 29 of 247 Sports. Major chose OU over Arkansas, USC, Texas and others. He finished his career at OU with 527 tackles, including 215 this season, according to Pro Football Focus. He is one of 20 players on this season’s roster who either left early through the portal or entered the NFL draft.
