Clement must steer well clear of rarely-seen PL striker after Rangers…

Philippe Clement should move away from Wolves’ Fabio Silva as Rangers transfer news emerges

Philippe Clement needs to clarify his priorities at Rangers in the January transfer window after a new relationship with Wolves striker Fabio Silva emerged.
According to the Daily Record, in its print edition, Gers were given the opportunity to sign the young Portuguese player on loan in January (December 26, page 42).

Celtic have also been offered the Portuguese sensation, who has barely featured for the club all season and is set to leave Molineux until the end of the season in January.
There has been reported interest from both Old Firm clubs, with Celtic likely to be busy trying to stem their slump under manager Brendan Rodgers, but Rangers are currently on the list.
If Rangers want to get off to a good start in January’s opening game, the Belgian has made it clear he plans to spend big, and the door appears to be open to Clement.
Silva has spent the last few years on loan at Belgian club Anderlecht, and having seen him in action there, the manager will likely be familiar with the 23-year-old and how he plays.

However, this is a move the Light Blues must avoid at all costs.
That’s because not only do the team have more urgent areas that need to be addressed urgently in January, but Silva’s record doesn’t make him an attractive candidate.
The reported Gers target has struggled at Premier League level for Wolves so far this season, scoring zero goals and providing zero assists in eight games.
In fact, since moving to England, Silva has scored just four goals and three assists in a total of 62 top-flight games [Transfermarkt] – a record that certainly makes him an instant success at Ibrox.
But not the qualities required of Clement if they are to beat Celtic and win the SPFL title.
There’s no denying that the 21-year-old shooter’s form and minutes in English football have been pathetic.
He didn’t even score a goal or make an assist as a semi-regular.
Rangers also currently have an in-form striker in Cyriel Dessers, who has scored 3 goals and provided 2 assists in his last 5 games (SofaScore), and has scored 9 goals in every game this season.
(Transfermarkt).
He has been hit with criticism since signing at Ibrox.
