Manager confirms club are holding conversations with Tottenham over…

Ipswich Town head coach Kieran McKenna has confirmed that Tottenham are in talks with the Championship side over the call-up of Dane Scarlett in January.
Scarlett is seen by many at Spurs as a future first-team candidate, with Ange Postecoglou admitting he liked Scarlett after seeing him at training ground in August.
A decision was taken to send the teenager on loan to Ipswich in an attempt to get some game minutes, but it didn’t work out for the 19-year-old.
He came on as a substitute in all 12 of England’s games in the Championship this year.
season.
The main reason why the England Under-21 international is struggling to break into the squad is because his boys have far outperformed expectations this season and are currently second to him in the standings.

Scarlett could return to Tottenham .
McKenna confirmed Spurs had contacted the club about Scarlett and admitted the north London club were likely to recall the player.
He spoke about the striker’s future to BBC Radio Suffolk (via the East Anglian Daily Times): “We’re in talks with Tottenham at the moment.
I think there’s a very good chance he’ll be recalled.
“Tottenham are currently having injury problems and their main striker (Son Heung-min) is also due to head to the Asian Cup in early January.
There’s a good chance he’ll be recalled.
” McKenna insisted the Tottenham man would be recalled despite the fact that Scarlett is not in the starting XI due to his experience at Portman Road Stadium I learned a lot.
The 37-year-old added: “He’s a really talented player.
We enjoyed having him here.
He played in a game after pre-season was interrupted and he didn’t have any playing time.
“The players who played were doing very well, so he didn’t get into the starting lineup as much as he would have liked.
” But he did make 12 appearances at the top of the Championship.
“He has made a great contribution to us.
I hope he has learned a lot from his environment and his time at the club and I think he will come back a stronger player and we expect good results from him in the future.
Spurs Web Opinion It is doubtful whether Ison’s Asia Cup trip had any influence on Tottenham’s decision to call up the Scarlets.
I believe this is due to the young player’s struggles for playing time and I hope Spurs will send the 19-year-old on loan in the second half of the season to help them finish further down the Championship table.
