CB: Ben Davies – There is hope that Micky van de Ven will return in January, but Davies has performed well in most situations during the Dutchman’s absence.
LB: Destiny Udogie – Emerson Royal has proven to be a useful and versatile team player, but he is no Udogie.
The Italian international returned to the team after serving a one-match suspension.
DM: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – Oliver Skip struggled at the base of midfield on Saturday, so I can imagine Ange being replaced while Yves Bissouma is suspended.
CM: Pape Matar Sarr – The tireless Senegalese international is a key figure in midfield and will be especially important on Thursday given Brighton’s ability to break through the third.
CM: Dejan Kulusevski – The Swede had one of his quieter performances in recent memory over the weekend, but there is no doubt that Kulusevski will remain in the team, and possibly in midfield.
RW: Brennan Johnson – May need improvement in some areas, but there’s no denying he can make things happen in the final third.
Johnson contributed two goals against Everton.
ST: Richarlison – The Brazilian recorded his best goal-scoring performance in a Spurs jersey and definitely looks better since his surgery.
LW: Son Heung-min – Despite scoring points, Son Heung-min was unusually inefficient in the final third of the weekend.
However, the Korean player has shown great form this season.
