Just in: Rangers problems to be discussed in advance as targets for new players…

Rangers manager Philippe Clement is hoping to sign a new left-back in the January transfer window, according to Marc Pirie.
The journalist outlined in an article in the Daily Record [25.
December] Gers are likely to be planning a transfer next month.

Rangers spent a lot of money in the summer and are rumored to be linked with a number of players before the restart next week.
“Where should I start with Philippe Clément?
” said Pirie.
“He has struggled with injury problems up front with Danilo and Kemar Roofe, but given that his predecessor  spent a lot of money up front in the summer, the Belgian has his eyes set elsewhere.
“Borna Barisic’s contract expires in the summer, but with Ridvan Yilmaz unable to replace the Croatian since joining, Klement has decided that the left-back will be on the back of Santa’s sleigh.
I want you to stand up.

Considering Barisic’s contract situation and Yilmaz’s lack of quality when called up, signing a new left-back will no doubt be on Rangers’ agenda.
However, the Gers may wait until the summer before signing a new player at this position.
That will ultimately reveal whether Barisic stays.
The immediate priority in January will be a defensive midfielder.
With a few players in that area currently absent, or perhaps a new attacker as well.

The Light Blues are definitely in the title race, so it’s important that Clement gets the support he needs in January, following his incredible run since replacing Michael Beale.
He said Clement no doubt already has a number of targets in mind and hopes one of them will be brought to Ibrox in the coming weeks.
Finally, signing the right signing in January could be the final piece of the puzzle as they look to beat Celtic.
